Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of VennPub. By creating an account or continuing to use the service, you agree to them.

1. Who you are contracting with

VennPub is provided by Youssef Darahem, trading as VennPub(“we”, “us”), a sole trader established in Türkiye. When you use VennPub, you are entering into an agreement with Youssef Darahem.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account, or by continuing to use VennPub, you accept these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the service. We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

3. What the service does

VennPub helps researchers carry out systematic literature reviews. It searches scholarly databases, imports search exports from other databases, removes duplicate records, supports two-stage screening of records for inclusion, and produces reporting artifacts including a PRISMA 2020 flow diagram and a PRISMA-S search appendix.

VennPub is a tool for organising and reporting your own methodological decisions. It does not make screening decisions for you, and it does not provide research, clinical, medical or professional advice. You remain responsible for the conduct of your review and for anything you publish from it.

4. Your account

You must provide accurate information when registering, keep your credentials secure, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You are responsible for activity carried out under your account.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse VennPub. In particular, you must not:

  • use the service for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any applicable law;
  • use it to commit fraud, or to send spam or other unsolicited messages;
  • upload, store or distribute material that infringes the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrighted full-text articles you are not licensed to hold;
  • interfere with the security or integrity of the service, including by introducing malware, probing or scanning for vulnerabilities, circumventing access controls, or scraping the service by automated means;
  • place a load on the service, or on the third-party literature databases it queries, that is disproportionate to normal research use, or use it in a way that breaches those databases’ own terms of use;
  • resell or redistribute the service without our written permission.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the search strategies, uploaded files, screening decisions, notes and other material you put into VennPub(“your content”). You grant us only the permission needed to host, process and display your content in order to provide the service to you.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Bibliographic records and search exports are normally fine; full-text articles may be subject to a publisher licence that does not permit storing them in a third-party service.

7. Our intellectual property

We retain all rights in VennPub itself — the software, its interface, documentation and branding. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is active and in good standing.

8. Service availability

We work to keep VennPub available and correct, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, and we do not guarantee any particular result. The service depends on third-party literature databases that we do not control, and which may change, rate-limit or become unavailable. Features may change or be withdrawn.

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing in them affects the statutory rights of a consumer.

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. We take backups, but they are not a substitute for your own records.

9. Payment and subscriptions

VennPub offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, renewal, cancellation and tax terms are set out in Paddle’s buyer terms, which apply to your purchase alongside these terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you chose until cancelled. Where a plan includes a free trial, the trial period and its length are shown at checkout, and billing begins when the trial ends unless you cancel first.

You can cancel at any time from your account page, which opens Paddle’s customer portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which offers a 14-day change-of-mind window.

We may change our prices. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for, and we will give reasonable notice before it applies to a renewal.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to VennPub if:

  • you materially breach these terms;
  • payment for your subscription fails and is not resolved;
  • we reasonably believe your use presents a security or fraud risk to the service or to other users;
  • you repeatedly or seriously breach the acceptable use section above.

Where circumstances allow, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right. You may close your account at any time. On termination we will, on request made within a reasonable period, provide an export of your review data.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@vennpub.com, or by post to the address in section 1. For billing and refunds, contacting Paddle at paddle.net is usually fastest, since they are the merchant of record.
